THE ASSESSMENT: NEXT STEPS

Review the instructions below to take the CliftonStrengths® Assessment or retrieve past results.

If you’ve already taken the assessment (formerly known as the StrengthsFinder® Assessment), please don’t take it again! We and Gallup believe that the first time you take the assessment is typically the most accurate set of results.

CoreClarity, Inc. is not affiliated with The Gallup Organization.

I’VE TAKEN THE ASSESSMENT, BUT I DON’T REMEMBER MY RESULTS. WHAT Do I DO?

To retrieve your results, go to Gallup’s Account Assistance page and follow the instructions.

Or call Gallup at (888) 486-9104 and talk to one of their client support representatives. They should be able to help you!

I’VE NEVER TAKEN THE ASSESSMENT. WHAT DO I DO?

1. For $24.99, you can purchase a code from the Gallup Access Store to take the assessment. If you are a student, click here to purchase with the education discount.

NOTE: We highly recommend purchasing only your Top 5 at this time. At a later date, you can explore the CliftonStrengths 34 Upgrade.

2. Follow the instructions to take the assessment. Allow about thirty minutes of uninterrupted time. Once completed, your results will be provided instantly. Please note that the only “right” answers are the ones that best describe you. To get the most accurate results, select the choice that first comes to mind. Select what is true for you in general, not just how you feel that day or what it takes to get your current job done.

3. Once you receive your results from Gallup, send your information and talents to your facilitator/coach.

Should I take the assessment again?

The simple answer? No. According to the Gallup website:

“Your first completion of the CliftonStrengths (formerly known as StrengthsFinder) will yield the purest and most revealing results. For this reason, each access code is valid for only one use to take the assessment.

Taking the assessment more than once may actually decrease the accuracy of your results. The assessment measures the presence of talents by presenting you with a pair of statements, then challenging you to make a top-of-mind choice between the two. The 20-second time limit and your unfamiliarity with the statements ensure your assessment's accuracy by making it difficult to over-think your responses.”

At CoreClarity, we agree with Gallup on this issue. Once you have taken the assessment, you know too much to take it again in an objective fashion.

Regardless if you remember the specific statements or not, your brain has an understanding of how the assessment works. This can affect your top of mind answer - which is where our talents are triggered. In addition, in cases where someone gets a talent that they don't want the first time, their subconscious may even skew their subsequent results away from something that could be a very powerful, undeveloped gift.
